If you love golf, beautiful scenery, and traveling in style, the Rovos Rail Golf Safari is a perfect choice. This 10-day luxury train journey takes you across South Africa to play on some of the country’s best golf courses – and there’s plenty to enjoy for non-golfers too!

Your Journey
The trip begins in Pretoria, heading west to Sun City, where golfers play a top course and non-golfers can go on a safari in Pilanesberg National Park.

Next, the train travels south to the Drakensberg Mountains. Golfers enjoy 18 holes at Champagne Sports Resort, while others can take a guided tour of a historic battle site, explore local arts and crafts, or go for a mountain walk.

Then it’s off to the coast to play at Durban Country Club or Zimbali Golf Course. Non-golfers can enjoy a city tour of Durban and a relaxing lunch at the golf club.

The journey continues to Zululand for a game drive in Hluhluwe Game Reserve, followed by a visit to the small country of Eswatini (Swaziland). Golfers play at the Royal Swazi Golf Club, while others enjoy a safari in Mkhaya Game Reserve, visit the famous Swazi Candles craft market, and have lunch.

Next stop is Malelane, near Kruger National Park. If available, golfers play at Leopard Creek, one of the top golf courses in South Africa. If not, they’ll play at the nearby White River Golf Club. Non-golfers head into Kruger for a thrilling morning game drive.

On the last full day, the train climbs into the mountains again. Golfers play Highland Gate, while non-golfers enjoy a fun day with a fly-fishing talk, a whisky tasting, and a visit to a local crafts center.

The journey ends in Pretoria.
