Cape Town is a melting-pot of cultures where historical influences from India and Southeast Asia permeate the food scene. If you’re used to spending lots of money on food, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the great value for money in Cape Town. Coffee, food and wine are an important part of the Cape Town culture, so make sure you come hungry!
The City of Cape Town has some amazing must-visit restaurants that are probably attracting especially the hipper and younger crowds. During the summer months the buzz is simply wow!! From Woodstock to Bree to Kloof street, there are plenty of options for an excellent meal. Constantia, only 20 minutes from Cape Town, offers another wonderful selection of world-class restaurants. These more elegant venues offer besides the delicious food, often beautiful views and a more laid-back dining experience. The Winelands are another major destination for foodies. From picnics in the most beautiful settings to silver service, there is something for everyone. You will be amazed how exceptional this area is and what there all is on offer.
Let More of Africa help you to find the perfect places for you to enjoy magical and delicious moments that you will not forget.
A note of precaution: I suggest you to plan well ahead of time where you will eat, as an advanced booking is essential in most of Cape Town’s restaurants. I booked the restaurants I went to four months in advance, and I was barely able to fit the available slots with the schedule of my city sightseeing. Something else to note is that for most of them you will need to pay a small deposit which will be deducted from your final bill.
