Jabulani is a special five-star lodge in the Greater Kruger area that offers a unique safari experience. It’s not just a luxury stay—it has a heartwarming story.
Jabulani gets its name from an orphaned baby elephant that was brought to the owners for rehabilitation. The owners adopted the little one, along with other orphaned elephants from Zimbabwe, and the lodge soon became a sanctuary for them and other endangered species.
Jabulani works closely with HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development), an orphanage where young baby elephants are cared for before they are introduced to their new family, the Jabulani herd.
The Lodge
The lodge has a stylish African look with touches of old-world colonial charm. With only six suites, it’s very private and personal. Families can stay in the spacious Zindoga Villa, which is completely separate and perfect for children.
Guests can get up close to the resident elephant herd, learning about their behaviour, personalities, and rescue stories. You can even choose an “Elephant Experience,” where you meet, touch, and feed these gentle giants.
