Tanzania

The wild world is waiting to be discovered

Home to the highest and the lowest point in Africa, Tanzania is a country of incredible beauty.

This wild world is waiting to be discovered with stays in luxury camps and lodges. Admire the annual Great Migration, when huge herds of wildebeest follow the fresh grazing that sprouts in the wake of the annual rains. Visit the Ngorongoro Crater, formed by the collapse of an extinct volcano where more than 30.000 animals thrive in enclosed grassland.

Mountain Kilimanjaro, situated in a mountainous and densely forested area, is nearby the border of Kenya. More to the west is where you will find the world famous Serengeti.

The famous Ngorongoro Crater is a World Heritage Site situated at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. The crater is the largest unbroken ancient caldera in the world. Nearly three million years old, the once-volcanic Ngorongoro is now considered Africa’s Garden of Eden.

Easy to combine your safari in the Serengeti is a few days to nearby Rwanda where chimpanzees and gorillas live free in the forests. Track a family of gorilla with an expert guide and connect via this amazing way with the endangered mountain gorilla. You are bound to never forget this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

When to go?

This country has a huge diversity in geography and climate, so it greatly depends what areas you wish to visit. Between November and August is the best time to experience the Serengeti Migration, whereas the best game viewing in the Serengeti would be during the dry season: June to October. August to October are the best months for Zanzibar.

Zanzibar and nearby islands

The name already brings associations with images of spice markets and palm-fringed islands on a turquoise sea. A very short distance from the mainland, Zanzibar used to be on the crossroads of African, Middle-eastern and Asian traders. Visit the Old Town and go on a spice tour, taste the local cuisine, walk the cobbled streets and chill on one of the many white sandy beaches.
